Black holes, space, deep space exploration, Sam Neil, Laurence Fishburne, Jason Isaacs, horror and speculative science fiction? Doesn’t that sound great? Add to it hell and I’m in nerd heaven! Event Horizon remains an underrated movie.
1997 Event Horizon’s Infinite Terror!
When my mother went to Blockbusters, we were members with our cards and all where six movies would cost only like $10.00 for rentals. Good times! Well, I was a fan of the Alien franchise, Ripley being a role model to me.
I wanted to watch Alien III because it was the one I didn’t watch, but the movie wasn’t there. Little did I know I would soon be aboard the Event Horizon the infinite terror.

Pirate Nerd Mostly Captain Vane
I am a huge Age of Piracy nerd. I was always interested in history, but pirates are my favorite subject. Of course, I’m a fan of Pirates of the Caribbean. However, when Black Sails came out, I hesitated because I feared mistakes would show. Yet, Captain Vane noticed me!
Six years ago, Henry Cavill stepped in Superman’s boots and hit the big screen. The anticipation and expectations of fans were high. DC Comics would either make or break it with their reincarnation of one timeless and most beloved superhero of all time.
Six Years Ago
A little more than two months ago, I wrote an entire article about Krypton and the impression we got of it from Man of Steel. The Kryptonian planet lacked a few pertinent details and overall evacuation planning. Looking back on the article, Man of Steel, are we missing something?
If we compare this 2013 movie, to all the others made previous to it, it is an improvement. Despite Christopher Reeve being the only Superman to me, Henry Cavill in appearance hit the mark of Superman’s looks.
If I say the name, Superman, we all recall the man from Krypton flying and lifting cars. Eighty-one years old and to this day, the Kryptonian still captivates our imagination. After numerous incarnation, Henry Cavill hit the big screen with the CGI cape. Here we are, six years later.
Man of Steel Summary
With the imminent destruction of Krypton, their home planet, Jor-El and his wife seek to preserve their race by sending their infant son to Earth. The child’s spacecraft lands at the farm of Jonathan and Martha Kent, who name him Clark and raise him as their son. Though his extraordinary abilities have led to the adult Clark living on the fringe of society, he finds he must become a hero to save those he loves from a dire threat. — Google
When I was younger, I thought that my night terrors were usual. I thought that my overactive imagination was a curse.
I thought I was abnormal and didn’t fit in anywhere. I didn’t know an artist lived with anxiety.
Once Upon A Time
I grew up with my mother and grandparents under the same roof. My mother was an artist, drawing and painting. My grandpa worked at a binding company for publishers. He would bring home many books that had small defaults in the paging, margins or didn’t make the mark. Believe me; we had priceless bookshelves!
